Route: Brown Mountain RangeRoute that unites the cities of Cordova and Seville by the south face of Brown Mountain range, in particular by the natural parks of Hornachuelos, in north Cordova, and North Mountain range, in Seville.

The city of Cordova is placed in the center and to the north of Andalusia, in the skirts of Brown Mountain range and the head of the valley of the Guadalquivir, to borders of this one. At present it is referring a cultural one of the south of Europe, being one of the most beautiful cities and well conserved. Its old historic centre was declared Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO in 1984. Throughout his expanded history it had times of splendor, it was capital of the Bética, Roman province the south of Spain, counted on so many playful buildings as the same Rome. Later it occupied an important place in the empires Bizantino and Visigodo. But it was during the Muslim occupation when it reached his greater apogee, it was constructed the Mosque, its most well-known monuments, becoming the capital of the independent Emirate and the Califato Omeya of the West. During the X century it had the highest population of the history of the West, the city had a sewage system and a unique lighting system at the time. In 1236 Fernando III conquered the city and annexed it to the crown of Castille, Seville would be the next one in 1248. Cordova was birthplace of philosophers like the Séneca, Averroes and Maimónides. In the outskirts of the capital is the city palace of Medina Azahara built by the caliph Abderraman III, as a symbol of his power. Our route at this moment runs to the north of the river Guadalquivir.

We will leave to Cordova happening next to the mentioned Medina Azahara for soon and towards the north being penetrating in the mountain range until the natural park of Hornachuelos, of great beauty due to natural vegetation, fauna, and places. Steep mounts and dams would accompany us in the direction of the provincial limit of Cordova and Seville, happening this one we will be in the natural park of the North Mountain range of Seville, which maintains the natural terrain features of Hornachuelos. We will pedal until the locality of the Pedroso, south entrance of the park, which loses height here and it smooths to a land between meadows and fertile valley until the city of Seville.
