Circular route of great beauty whose departure place is the historical city of Seville.
Located in the valley of the Guadalquivir on the west of Andalusia and about 100 km of the Atlantic slope, Seville, by its geographic situation has been an important city throughout the history of Andalusia and Spain. At the moment it is the most populated city of Andalusia, being its capital. The city is on the river Guadalquivir, main axis of Seville and of our route, which is born in the mountain range of Cazorla, Jaen, and ends at the Atlantic slope on estuary of the locality of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, from Cordova forms a depression till its end called valley of the Guadalquivir. It bathes three provinces throughout his 657 km Jaen, Cordova and Seville, and in its last section it exerts the natural border between the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz. It is navigable until the city of Seville
We will initiate our route south direction by the left margin of the Guadalquivir which we will not leave until its estuary in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, we will cross rice fields by the low fertile valley and the national park of Doñana. The route is totally plane until the sea. From Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Cadiz, we will cross the river in a hull which will lead to a side of Doñana, Huelva, we will pedal by the beach of the boundary with the low tide to reach Matalascañas, tourist nucleus belonging to Almonte. We will enjoy the national park of Doñana, which was declared Patrimony of the Humanity in 1994 by UNESCO. It is the greatest extension of Spain and fundamental for south of Europe due to migratory birds in their trip to Africa. It also emphasizes the wealth of its flora and fauna, being the Iberian lynx the emblem of the park.
We will go back to Seville through salt marshes, dunes and pine groves of great beauty in the province of Huelva. Through the river Guadiamar and the region of the Aljarafe we will arrive at Seville.
