Route: from interior to MediterraneanFrom the historical capital of the Christian kingdom to the capital of the Costa del Sol. It is a route of great diversity since it crosses several regions of Andalusia, from the east Andalusia to the Mediterranean Sea.

We will depart from the historical city of Jaen, located on a hill, its streets of pronounced pending define its urbanism, existing unevenness between the different districts from the city to the highest point which is the castle of Santa Catherine. Throughout its history different Íberos settlers lived here, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigodos, Muslims and finally was taken by the Christians. After the battle of the Navas of Tolosa in 1212, the valley of the Guadalquivir was gained by the Christian troops finally taking control of the city of Jaen in 1246 by king Fernando III who annexed it to the crown of Castille. It had a very important role in the recapture of Granada. Our route begins on its castle and southwestern direction we leave Jaen, through a sea of olive trees we look for the provincial limit with Cordova marked by the Guadajoz river.

After crossing it we enter in the natural park of the Subbetica mountain range, located in the south of the province of Cordova. It emphasizes the natural beauty of its landscape, lagoons, dams, mountains and valleys, and of its historical localities like Luque, Zuheros, Cabra, Lucena, Rute and Iznájar. We leave the province of Cordova to the south to enter the one of Malaga by the north . After we arrive at the historical Antequera, North door of the Malagan mountain range, to continue to the west by a zone of high natural value, Ardales. From here and through the Guadalhorce valley we will descend to the luminous city of Malaga.
