Route: return Sierra NevadaSierra Nevada was declared Reserve of the Biosphere by UNESCO 1986, natural Park 1989 and half of its extension, high part, in National Park in 1998.

Located in the main bulk of the Penibetic mountain range, it has a length of 78km, between the populations from Padul, Granada west, and Ohanes, Almeria east, to this one. Its width varies nevertheless from 30 km in its western part to 15 km in the eastern. In the south we found the Alpujarra, lines up oriented to the sea that were the last redoubt Morisco in the Iberian Peninsula. Very beautiful are also the villages of Contraviesa and Gádor. The North slope is mostly escarped and forms a deep step that, in straight line covers a space 22 Kms of unevenness between the tip Veleta and the capital, Granada. It emphasizes the region of the Marquesado and the hole of Guadix. With respect to the height, mts counts on 15 summits of more than 3000., emphasizing Fortress 3371 mts., Vane 3392 mts. and 3482 Mulhacén mts. ceiling of the Iberian Peninsula, to only 33 km in straight line to the Mediterranean. It is a continuous water reserve, with more than 30 lagoons and numerous rivers among them emphasized by their volume, the Genil, Guadalfeo and Andarax. Mts exists a ski resort located in Pradollano to 2200 of altitude.

Circular route of spectacular beauty, part of imposing Granada, capital of the Nazari kingdom. We will go South direction until Lanjarón, door of the Alpujarra, in 2 days we will cross the region, having done night in Trevelez 1476 mts., higher population of Europe with great views to the Mulhacen. The passage to the North face we will do by the port of Ragua 2000 mts., this is the natural limit between the provinces of Granada and Almeria. After crossing the region of the Marquesado we will arrive in Guadix, main municipality of this slope, from here west direction to Güejar Sierra. In the last stage we will ascend to the ski resort of Pradollano, and as a reward we will enjoy the way down to Granada.
